The odd chainsaw post

It's been posted here before, about the Harley powered chainsaw, the V6 chainsaw and the V8 chainsaw.

Here's a complete u-turn on that idea.

A chainsaw powered motorcycle.

Nice Blond - lousy commercial

Here's an Aussie babe who's the primary focus of this video ad for load tie downs for your truck.

How could the manufacturer approve of this low grade ad? Maybe the babe is his brother-in-law's wife.

Pandering to the animal instincts in men.

Good God! Are you color blind?

Guaranteed to catch your eye as it goes by, this Caddy is surely one of a kind.

Hurts the eyes just lookin' at it.

Computer mod with an auto theme

How about this for creativity?

A computer housed in an 18" Porsche rim.

This project was commisioned by Nvidia and really hits the mark for most unusual PC design.

Eye phooling photos

An award winning German photographer has taken a series of photos that deserve a second look.

What at first looks like... well, vertical, is in fact, horizontal or is it the other way around?

Either way, it's worth the time spent checking out these great shots.

What every man wants in bed

Watch the short video.

It'll have you convinced that you've always wanted something like this.

Watch the video again.

Geek car mods

The lengths that some people (geeks) go to customize their rides and make them unique.

These guys truly "think different".

Holiday comics fer youze

Beer cyclist

An amazing feat of balancing, a bicyclist traverses a line of beer bottle necks riding across a span.

I think he only drank three or four before the demonstration.

The world's most beautiful super computer

The MareNostrum in Barcelona, Spain is the ninth largest in the world, but is the most beautiful.

It was installed in a former chapel and the juxtaposition of the old architecture with modern teraflops makes this machine a veritable beauty.

Check out this interesting pictorial.

The Beatles - almost believable

This is pretty cool... if yer a Beatles fan.

Beatles impersonators calling themselves "The Beatnix" perform a quite convincing rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven".

Video was made using a technique that simulates the fuzziness of an old movie.

Great take on a couple of oldies.

Behind the wheel

I have no idea of the speeds this guy achieved, but from the sound of the engine, he's really cookin'.

Yep. Balls of steel.

Watch this and hang on.

A look back - the 1970s

Ah, hot pants. Daisy Dukes. Those were the days.

If you weren't around during those halcyon years here's what some of the babes were wearing.

This was the beginning of the "men, avert your eyes" period, long before political correctness was invented.

2 hot girls in the shower

This is a nice funny video of these two babes in the shower who never seem to get wet.

Their purpose is to answer submitted questions posed by viewers.

The blonde comes off as a typical blonde while addressing the issue of reindeer.

Watch. Safe for work.

What were they thinking?

The worst drag racing crash in history

Absolutely unbelievable!

The funny car apparently blows a rear tire, goes out of control, and smashes into the guardrail.

How this guy survived is both a mystery and a miracle.

Saturday Night Blue Collar Brew Review

Ho,ho,ho and all that crap. With Christmas in our gunsights, I thought I'd review a seasonal beer, Goose Island Christmas Ale.

With money in hand I trudged down to the beer store for this week's review subject. There I stood, like a kid in a candy store, staring at all the wonderful sixpacks who seemed to be beckoning me like so many fine ladies. With all the same old Christmas carols boring into my head from the beer store radio, I decided to take a chance and try some of the Goose Island Christmas brewski.

Another O.T. Saturday at the ol' warehouse made me wait as is becoming usual, and 10 o'clock took it's sweet time to arrive. As well as a snowstorm which delayed my beer review by a whole 15 minutes!

Finally, with the Mac turned on, and Text Edit fired up, I popped open the first bottle. I taste. I write. I'm lovin' it.

The first sip from the bottle yielded a different taste than what I was expecting. Smooth but a little bitter. And malty. This slight taste of malt made me think that this beer is a dark beer. My suspicions were confirmed when I poured it into the mug. The beer is dark, though not as dark as Pepsi or Coke, yet darker than some of the amber beers I've had. Millions of microbubbles made their presence known when I held the mug up to the light. The head came up proud and thick and stayed there at the top of the glass just lookin' at me for a long time as if saying, Well? Watcha waitin' for? Have another sip." The malty taste, although not overwhelming, remains throughout the drink making the beer taste a little thick, yet surprisingly not filling at all.

This is a good beer to have for the Christmas holiday when fam & friends come over. If you go visit this holiday, bring some of this along with. Not being a fan of dark beers, I'd bring a sixpack along on a visit just for the fact that it's a Christmas beer (seasonal brew) and an ale (a special taste that not all of your beer drinking relatives may be familiar with).

Note from the Goose Island Brewery: "This beer develops well in the bottle for up to 5 years." So after the party, take what's left home and see how it tastes next year.

The SixPackTech ratings for Goose Island Christmas Ale are:
Taste: 7.5 - dark, malty flavor.
Smoothness: 7 - slightly bitter.
Drinkability: 6.5 - seasonal beer, coupla two-tree... dat's it.
Bang for the Buck: 8 - not a bad price for a one-time Christmas beer.

Visit the Goose Island Brewery website right here.

And don't make a mess.

Cheesy Christmas yard decorations

Here's what happens when some people's creativity gets tangled up like last years string of Christmas lights.

What it turns out to be is an influx of usage fees to the electric company and a bizarre mish-mash of Jesus, Santa, Rudolph and the wise men.

Knight Rider update

More news about the upcoming Knight Rider series featuring this sweet looking Mustang. Ford has released a statement concerning the series and the centerpiece, a Shelby GT500KR.

The voice of the cyber machine will be spoken by Will Arnett.

Don't know how this will go over, but the whole shebang has me extremely interested.

Check out the article with pictures and the Ford's press release here on Autoblog.

Buy the wife some time

Here are some way cool kitchen timers (who'da thunk it?) that are guarnteed to spice up conversation in the most important room in the house (next to the can, of course).

Many are very unique and one-of-a-kind design. The tape measure timer looks especially interesting.

Check 'em out here.

The ugliest colleges in America

With the age of Millenium Park in Chicago and the Art Deco goodness of the skyscrapers in New York, some of America's colleges just don't get the hint.

These buildings are dull, drab and boring.

Gift ideas for the Switcher

Christmas gift idea

Amazon.com has a d.i.y model kit called the Visible V8. Perhaps you could pick one up for that auto enthusiast in your family.

Assemble the kit, then turn the crank at the flywheel and watch the pistons, camshaft and valves operate just like they do for real.

I had one when I was a teen. I thought it was awesome, even before the word was invented.

About 40 bucks.
