Ultra, over-the-top, uber geeky home theaters

You gotta see this. Some people have the wherewithal to spend more money on their home cinemas than most of us earn in a year. Before taxes.

The furnishings and decor are outlandish and this isn't even considering the amount of tech that's hidden in an air conditioned closet nearby. And the sound system.

Popcorn, anyone? Please don't stick your chewing gum under the seat.

More outrageous pictures are here.

Nuked soap

Short and sweet; better 'n watching paint dry, observe what happens when you microwave a bar of soap.

Don't try this at home. Do it at work or at a "friend's" house.

"Hey, I was just trying to clean the inside!"

Eaten by trees!

Trees are probably the lungs of the planet. Or in this case, the stomachs.

It seems impossible that, with trees' slow growth rate, they could consume everyday objects and continue right on growing and thriving.

Here is an interesting article with more pictures of this phenomenon.

Miracle laundry additive

A short and sweet commercial for Coloreria Italiana, a dye or additive for the wash.

It's nicely made with a segue of the music as well as the whole sight gag thing.

Check it out below.

Presidents' Day

Today is Presidents' Day. Do you have the day off from work? Neither do I. Big whoop.

Of all the presidents we've suffered through during our country's span of years, Truman stands out in my mind as a favorite. Why? He called Nixon a son-of-a-bitch. Ya gotta admire his candor.

With that in mind, check out Neatorama's article about the nuances and oddities of some of our past presidents such as Chester A. Arthur who changed his pants sometimes 5 times a day or Eisenhower who hated cats and would take pot shots at 'em if they ventured too close to his house.
