Never drink and drive

I'm presenting an extremely graphic photo slide show of a crash involving a drunk driver.

If you are susceptible to gory pictures, then pass this post up.

If you're going to drink, enjoy it at 0 miles per hour and 0 rpm.

Don't let this happen to you.

Don't do this to someone else.

Extremely graphic warning: click if you dare.

Butt cheeks and questionable hooters

The week's end (see picture at left) signals a whole new update to my favorite two sections of SixPackTech, namely the Butt of the Week and Nat or Not. Two new ladies for your viewing pleasure.

Witness a blonde with a nice meaty derriere and a flashy brunette that will cause you to stare. Pause on her assets and then vote your opinion.

Scroll down on the left-hand column over by dair and give yerself a little treat.

You'll be gladja did.

Saturday Night Blue Collar Brew Review

Tonight's brew review is another deviation from the norm, whatever that may be. After last week's review of honey lager sweetness fest, I thought I'd get back into the true taste of beer by purchasing something a little different. I decided to go back to wheat. Yes, a wheat beer, but this time it's a "true wheat" beer, if there is such a thing. Tonight's review is on Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer, brewed by the same folks who bring us Fat Tire, namely the New Belgium Brewing Company of Fort Collins, Colorado. The sixpack of nicely brown bottles ran the standard 8 bucks.

The label on the bottle is ornate in its viney frame and a little blurb on the side lets you know about the wheat malt, coriander and orange peel spicing. What have I gotten myself into again? Well, the money's gone so here goes.

The freshly opened bottle smelled a little stronger than usual and I had to whiff it a couple of times to try to imagine what this beer was going to taste like. The first sip revealed a rather pleasant European flavor reminiscent of a couple of micro-brewed beers I've had some years back. This beer has a little more maltiness to it than others. Not bad but kind of surprising. Certainly not heavy tasting by any means.

Into the mug she went and up came a nice thick, white head with rather large-ish bubbles doing their thing below. The beer itself is very pale yellow, almost as if it was thinned out with water. The taste however remained good and strong by contrast.

As I drained the mug sip by sip, the taste smoothed out and the slight sweetness became more apparent. Not as sweet as last week's honey lager, but sweet enough where those sweetness taste buds were getting a little workout along with all the other buds. The maltiness settled down and the true smoothness of the beer became obvious as more sips were chalked up. This is quite a good beer.

It is not readily apparent that this is a wheat beer. There's no strong hoppiness or excessive maltiness. It's a nicely brewed bag of taste. I highly recommend this beer for a shelf in the beer fridge for when special friends drop by, or as a bring along when visiting. I also recommend drinking this beer from a mug rather than straight out of the bottle. By the time you hit the second bottle, you'll almost forget you're drinking beer.

SixPackTech ratings for Mothership Wit Organic Wheat Beer are:

Taste: 9 - nice blend all over your tongue.
Smoothness: 9 - easy on all your buds.
Drinkability: 9 - taste stays with you like an old friend.
Bang for the buck: 7.5 - little more than a buck a beer.

Gizmodo pranks the CES

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES for those who need an explanation) just finished this week on Friday. Some staffers from the gadget website Gizmodo.com attended. The CES as reported across the web was, for the most part, a snore. Nothing new and a lotta crap.

After seeing all there was to see, and probably seeing nothing of newsworthiness, one of the Gizmodo guys decided to have a little fun. He surreptitiously whipped out his TV-B-Gone and started playing "Blackout" with the LCD screens. Imagine the fun and the hilarity when, during one of the most important tech shows of the year many companies started having trouble with their displays. Imagine no more. Witness the video below.

Consequently, the dude's actions got him banned from CES forever and a fortnight.

Yes, nonviolent and nondamaging vandalism. A toast.
Fun with tech and filming it. A toast.
Getting caught... well... what can I say? It's news.
