Celebs posing for PETA

Some cheesecake for the weed eaters out there or for any guy regardless of his diet.

Celebs (some known, some unknown) pose for the animal rights organization.

There are some eyeball tingling shots here of some gorgeous babes.

And then there's Dennis Rodman (???!!!)

Check 'em out right here.

A pancake for your face

Cool little stop-motion video of a pancake chef and food filcher.

I, for one, appreciate the effort that went into the making of this video.

Didja ever try to pose eggs and get them to stay still on the counter top? Lotsa time involved here, I gair-own-tee.

Cheeseburger in a can

There's a fat guy somewhere with a cigar in his mouth who thought this up as a marketing gimmick. Probably a little hungover as well.

First of all, who would buy this?

Second, is it actually edible? What's the shelf life? How is it heated? What's it look like (smell like) when the can is opened? Is White Castle worried?

Who in their right mind... pfft! I give up.

Check out Gizmodo's brief write-up of this outlandish "delicacy."

Ruining a Super Bowl party

Are you having a get-together for the big game on Sunday? Over at our place, the boys and their families/main squeezes make themselves at home like beef cattle in a small corral. It gets pretty loud at times and there's plenty of laughter. The highlight of the day (and the Big Drawing Card) is Mom's homemade Reuben sammiches.

If you're planning on having a Super Bowl party, here's some advice: Check out his link today and try to avoid inviting any of the 11 personalities guaranteed to ruin the Big Day.

Don't say you haven't been warned.

Smiling loser

Here's an ad about three folks in an elevator.

On of those folks is a yakker, a gabber, a motormouth bullshitter. You know, the really obnoxious type.

Interesting effect when the lights go out.

Even more so when the lights come back on.

Hummer scooter

Don't get your pee boilin' over this idea. It's a figment of someone's fertile imagination.

There's a well-known automotive illustrator named Oberdan Bezzi who's rendered some amazing drawings of futuristic vehicles in the past and this is one of his latest ideas: A Hummer scooter.

This appears to be one of those ridiculous ➨ sublime imaginings.

You can read a little more about it here.

Singing Ringing Tree

It looks a little like a tree. Rather, it's art. A sculpture located in East Lancashire, England, that sings with the wind.

It doesn't sing any Neil Diamond tunes, thank goodness, but it does emit odd and eerie tones when the wind kicks up.

Can you call it a kinetic sculpture? It surely does something... it performs. But it doesn't move.

When the wind is blowing at the right clip, the pipes pipe up and perform.

If you've ever played MYST, this tree will audibly transport you back to those mysterious lands and the search for the D'ni manuscripts.

Check out the video below.

If you can't keep up, takes notes!

I'm a firm believer that guys just can't multi-task. Women seem to have no problem. Just camp out in the kitchen the next time she cooks you up some bacon, eggs and hash browns. With toast and jelly.

Lots of fryin' an' smells an' bangin' an' hoopla goin' on at the stove. Then whammo! It's all there in front of you. Together on a plate or two. All hot and ready to eat.

But I digress. Getting back to the multi-tasking thing, here's a humorous video about exactly that and a product geared toward students. It's a cool pen which aids and abets us poor male schlubs who have trouble with Restless Mind Syndrome and multi-tasking.

Watch below.

D.I.Y. camera stabilizer for under a buck

This looks pretty slick: a diy cam stabilizer you can make using parts from the garage.

Don't know exactly how well this works, but after watching the video, and determining the cost of parts, I just might try it with my $29.95 Yamaguchi Tsunami camera/USB hub.

Check out the short video on how to build it and how to use it.

Dude, your lamp smells like ass

Introducing the Brando Aroma USB light/speaker/smell doohickey.

Lights up and LED, plays your tunes, and stinks up your house.

What will they next think of?

This would only work if it came with vials of scent called "Burnt Rubber", "Nitro Methane", "New Muffler", "Puppy's Mouth" or "Your First Girlfriend's Perfume".

Want some unwanted visitor to leave? Use "Post-Burrito Night", "Burning Hair" or "Pig Farm".

Hmm. There may be some uses for this after all.

Only in Russia

Since the fall of Communism, a few eastern European (Asian?) countries have fallen on hard times, despite what you may have read in the news.

A while ago, I posted pictures of the hardships that have befallen Romania.

Roadster coming to the U.S.

Ain't she sweet? This is a new German roadster which the manufacturers have announced will available in the states soon.

It's called the YES! 3.2, and has two styles of engines: a 255 hp V6 and a 355 hp V8.

0-60 times are phenomenal. Check out a photo array at the the Autoblog, right here.

MacBook Air on paper

Perhaps you've heard all the hoopla surrounding the new MacBook Air. The thinness and lack of features on this device will be talked about for the rest of the year.

Maybe you've seen the commercial for it.

But wait. There's more. Some very clever artisans have done away with the aluminum exoskeleton of the Air and created one out of paper. And shrunk it down even more.

Combovers and self esteem

There ain't nuthin' you can do about it except admit that you're going bald. C'mon. It's in the genes. It's not your fault.

Look at these guys...

If you are going bald, do yourself a favor. Accept it. Once again, it's not your fault. It's in your genes, your DNA. You can't change that.

What you can do is change your image. It may change your life. Consider these guys:

Just buzz it off. Buy yourself a set of barber clippers, fit it with the proper length attachment, and do it!

When you go back to work or wherever, it'll take a few days for your coworkers to get over it. Think about it... how you look is now their problem. You'll be rid of that nagging self-esteem issue and you'll be able to get on with your life.

Let's be men here. Hair does not make the man, it's what's underneath it that does.

A blonde and a butt

Here we are with another weekly selection of babes.

Nat or Not features a voluptuous blonde with assets that will make you wonder from where she got them. Make your decision. Then vote right below it.

Butt of the Week will have you screaming for a 180 degree view, I kid you not.

Saturday Night Blue Collar Brew Review

Tonight's brew review offered me an opportunity to deviate from my normal routine of visiting the ol' beer store that I always do this time of week. Instead of heading out to the ol' same place, I paid a visit to another establishment here in the upper midwestern town of Morris, Illinois (sprawling metropolis with canyons of steel and neon tubing). I dropped in at the Four Seasons Liquors (FSL) just to see what I could see. I remember going to the Four Seasons years ago, when, at the time, all they had were coolers lining the walls full of domestics and shelves of nachos and pop.

I walked in around noon and was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I returned salutations and turned to look inside. HOLY CRAP! Man, they gotta stuff here! (Just remember, I don't get out much. Let alone to a new beer store.) I looked in the coolers where they had a lot of premium beers in there waiting to be drunk. Then more. Then the domestics. The center aisles were full of liquors and champagnes and sixpacks of warm premium brews and micro brews. I spotted at least a half dozen brand names of beers I'd like to try. I even saw beer from Uranus! Maybe not, but I was really whelmed. Almost overwhelmed.

I made my selection and brought it to the counter where the gentleman and I engaged in mild chit-chat. While we talked, he took each beer bottle out and dusted it off with a feather duster. Who does that anymore??? I mentioned my SixPackTech Brew Review and he insisted I write down the URL for him. As a gesture of goodwill, I told him I'd mention FSL in my review. So there ya go, man.

I left the store with a sixer of Pyramid Hefe Weizen Ale, a wheat beer that was mentioned on a recent episode of the Diggnation podcast. Hmm. The label on the bottle says that it's "unfiltered". Ah, unfiltered for extra taste. This oughta be good. 8 bucks and I was out the door.

Saturday night finally rolled around and the clock ticked those ticks that go so slow when you're waiting, but go so fast when you're having fun. Ah. It's time!

First bottle, first popped cap. I thrust my nose into the neck. Smelled quite mild with a slight bit of, um, difference. Taste perhaps? I took a sip. The beer has very good body and a very beery taste. Slightly malty, slightly hoppy. A great taste from the bottle. It tastes light for an ale. Just a few more bottle sips to get my yap ready for the treat.

I tipped the bottle and the mug caught every drop. A nice thick head came up and the brew revealed its true color. A light amber, slightly cloudy coloring with a mixture of regular and micro-bubble activity made for a glorious sight.

After a few swigs my taste buds started to settle down and the beer flavor became more apparent. Just enough to tantalize my tongue without demanding attention. Kinda like the neighbor kid who comes over and plays quietly and you forget he's there. This beer is a nice change, albeit slight, from the other beers of recent weeks. The hoppiness damn near went away and the malt flavor sort of hung around in the background tickling my taste buds quietly.

This Pyramid Hefe Weizen stacks up nicely against all the other premium brews I've reviewed here and I'm glad to add it to my list of favorites. Next time yer in my neck of the forest, stop off at FSL and pick up a sixer or two. It's right on the main drag of Route 47, across from Jewels. And tell the nice gentleman with the feather duster behind the counter that you heard about them from SixPackTech.

The SixPackTech ratings for Pyramid Hefe Weizen Ale are:

Taste: 8.9 - plays nicely with all your mouthy parts.
Smoothness: 8.3 - like snot on a doorknob.
Drinkability: 9 - like a favorite snackie-poo, ya can't stop at just one.
Bang for the buck: 8 - you'll be glad you had the dough in your pants.
Wife's all encompassing opinion: "It's really not bad, but a bit heavier than last week's."

Tracking your head

To me, this video is quite interesting. Those of you who are interested in gaming and gadgets, should watch this video about using infra-red and a Wii controller to achieve an amazing experience.

The video had me wondering how this technology would enhance playing a first person shooter.

The vid's not too techy and anyone will understand it.

Whether it trips your trigger is another story.

I found it fascinating, so there.

Great commercial for Ikea, that Scandinavian furniture parts store/do it yourself emporium.

Pan-American pizza

Ain't nuttin' better 'n this world than pizza and beer. Well, a couple of other things come to mind, but I digress.

What is your favorite type of pizza? Thin crust, thick crust, deep-dish, deep crust or thick dish? What?

Your fave probably depends on which area of the country you live. New Yorkers rave about theirs as do the Chicagoans.

Check out this interesting article about pizza styles from coast to coast.

Wait! I just had an idea. "The Saturday Night Blue Collar Pizza review!" Nah. I'd probably start looking like Jabba the Hut in no time.

Banning the balls

You've probably seen them on the road: nutsacks hanging from the trailer hitches of pickup trucks.

The good ol' boys who drive those big Dodge Ram 4x4s think it's pretty clever to throw a start into the motorist in the rearview mirror.

A lawmaker from Virginia is trying to get them banned. The story is here.

Why? He's probably doing it before the babes start hanging rubber hooters on their grilles.

Pfft!

Athletes with really bad names

All of these guys are in sports (if you consider Nascar a sport).

World's thinnest TV

Years ago, when I was a pimply faced teen, I told my mom, "One day, Mom, they're gonna make a TV so thin that you'll be able to hang it on the wall like a picture frame."

She replied, "You talk like a sausage." (????!!!!)

Sharp has introduced a TV, the Aquos X, which is about 1 1/4" thick. All ya gotta do is go to Japan and plunk down some yen. Get a 37, 42 or 47-incher. Stuff it in your carry-on, and head home.

More info and pictures are here.

A new project for SixPackTech

Boys and girls, moms and dads, I'd like to inform you of an interesting undertaking I am subjecting myself to. Due to reasons that I'd like to keep to myself, I'm planning on moving SixPackTech to its own web hosting service.

Let me allay some initial fears here. It won't be for awhile yet. I'd like to take my time and get it just right so that the readers' experiences will be at least the same, but hopefully improved. No flash, no banners, no music, no ads, no punching monkeys. Just me and you and beer and computers and cars and fun. And a babe or two.

Time for me is the killer. I have a limited amount of it available to put up posts before I have to vroom off to work on second shift at the ol' warehouse. So, designing the new place will happen by dribs and drabs until I can finally release the hounds upon the InterWorld.

I've signed up with a web hosting service today and now it's like I'm learning to crawl again before I can walk. I want to use WordPress (for any of you who are familiar with it). The possibilities seem limitless. But I've got to get my feet wet and wade around for a bit. You know, find out where all the new stuff is and how to use it. It'll be a big-time learning experience for me.

So what do you guys have to do in the meantime? Nuttin', honey. Just keep comin' back when you get a chance and catch up on the latest goofy stuff that's happening in the world. I'll be doing the same thing here until the contractors get done with the new place and I sign off on the punch list. It may be next month... it may take longer.

I'll letchuz know what's goin' on from time to time.

Don't forget... if the women don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy.
