TV as thin as a piece of bologna


Sony recently announced a new model of television, the XEL-1, that uses OLED (organic light emitting diode) technology. The set is amazingly skinny.

The screen is only 3mm thick and has an 11" display. Estimated to have a price of slightly more than $1,700.

Why? It's the technology. Perhaps within a few years many sets will be OLED sets and, depending on performance and demand, will have larger screens and cheaper prices.
