Gomail, GMail

Just under two minutes; user-submitted video about how Gmail messages travel from one place to another. After 1,100 users submitted entries to this "contest", the is the one that was chosen as the best.

It's got everything: cool music, stop-motion, animation, stunts and Legos. Spend a little of your time watching this. You won't regret it.

What the pointy end was for

Before there were pop-tops, there were pull-tabs. Before there were pull-tabs, there was the "church key." Years ago all beverage cans had to be opened with a can opener like the one shown.

Perhaps you've seen one layin' around at someone's house or even used the round end of this device to open a bottle.

And here's a bit of lore about Schlitz from Wikipedia:

On June 10, 1982, the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. was acquired by Stroh Brewery Company of Detroit, Michigan. The regular beer is still produced, though in relatively small quantities, by the Pabst Brewing Company, along with three malt liquors (Schlitz Malt Liquor, Schlitz Red Bull, and Schlitz Bull Ice).

Truth in advertising

This ad has been floating around for a few days, so I thought I'd share it wit yuz. It's an obvious Photoshop job but it certainly gets the message across.

Fastest Celica ever

Here's a Toyota Celica, probably during a "run whatcha brung" event at a strip. It's obviously set up to drag, having wheelie bars and all, but the engine doesn't sound like it has big muscle. However this little gem can still shit 'n' git down the quarter mile.

Here's the vid, albeit they spend a bit too long in staging.

A sign of the times

Graffiti is a scourge and is mostly frowned upon by the public. But this one really caught my eye. I find it admirable that the "artist" was able to think on his feet and come up with an ingenious and funny little addendum.

That and he had a marker with him at the time.
